A welcome surprise during the coronavirus pandemic is the breaking news that hardware giant Bunnings Warehouse has announced plans for a new $30 million store.
The proposal is for a site located off the Bruce Highway at Caboolture, between Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast at the SunGATE Business Park, this used to be known The Big Fish, on Pumicestone Rd.
Plans for the development were recently submitted to Moreton Bay Council, and if approved will create 140 jobs, this will be a supported by 250 jobs during construction.
The new complex would be more than 13,000 square metres in size and have parking for over 400 cars.
It is understood the hardware giant was making a large investment in the community while adding convenience for consumers.
Plus the proposed Bunnings Warehouse in Caboolture would offer local customers a wide range of outdoor living and home improvement products.
The development will provide new job opportunities for local residents as well as create additional construction jobs throughout the process.
A McDonalds, Red Rooster, pub, service station and shopping centre have already been approved at the site all expected to open in mid 2020 with scores more jobs anticipated.
Its also planned to include a neighbourhood shopping centre which was approved for the SunGATE site in 2017.
