Call for Registrations – 101st Remembrance Day 2019

Remembrance Day 2019 marks the 101st anniversary of the Armistice that ended the First World War. Almost 62,000 Australians died fighting for our freedom in the service of our nation. On this day Australians observe one minute’s silence at 11 am to honour those who have served and those who have died in war, and on war like or peace keeping operations.

The Remembrance Day National Ceremony at the Australian War Memorial is a complex event and we encourage media to register early, and to attend the site walkthrough at 10am on 8 November.

Space around the Stone of Remembrance, in the Hall of Memory and in the live-cross area is available, but will be limited.

Media can register for the event and request onsite technical specs and interview talent by emailing media@awm.gov.au.

Please include your power, cable and parking requirements with registration. Interviews will be allocated on a first-come first-served basis. Parking is limited and will be available for registered media only.

In order to finalise registration, the attached Media Induction WHS forms are to be completed and returned to the Memorial by COB 4 November 2019.

The Memorial will have experts available for interviews on the day and can provide archival imagery and footage to media covering Remembrance Day in 2019.
