A Glittery Glance into the Glassies : Andrew Powell
Member for Glass House, Andrew Powell was thrilled to last night finally announce the winners of his annual Glass House Small Business Awards, at the Glassies Gala held at the Beerwah Hideaway.
The event, which is the culmination of almost two months worth of nominations and voting periods, was a glitzy night where small business owners and employees got together with Andrew and the local Chambers of Commerce to celebrate all that small business is and does for the region.
“I was so pleased to be able to top previous year’s attendance numbers this year, with almost 150 people attending the gala. We were only a few people away from reaching maximum capacity at the venue!”
“I also received an extraordinary number of votes this year … over three thousand in total. While the silver glassy is chosen based off the number of votes received, the bronze and gold are selected by myself and the Chamber Presidents. It was extremely difficult to choose those winners due to the quantity and quality of those nominated.”
