Early Start to Police Easter Road Safety Campaign
The Easter Road Safety Campaign is in full swing with more police already out conducting targeted operations on busier roadways.
Chris Whiting MP said the Easter Road Safety campaign is crucial in keeping our roads safe during the holiday season.
“If you are on the road this Easter, you will see a higher presence of police on the road network,” Chris Whiting said.
“A visible police presence gives us all reassurance and deters drivers who are doing the wrong thing.
“A lot of people travel around the state during the Easter break and it’s important they make it home safely,” Chris Whiting said.
Chris Whiting said that the Fatal Five campaign was a good reminder of how we all need to be aware of what we should when we’re behind the wheel.
“It is always important to be aware of these fatal signs while driving,” said Chris Whiting.
“The Fatal Five – drink driving and drug driving, fatigue, inattention, seat belt use and speeding – are the most common killers on Queensland roads.
“I thank our hard-working police officers who will be out on our roads this Easter to keep communities safe,” said Chris Whiting.
The campaign runs from April 5 to April 26 and will involve a number of police operations across the state.
