A masterstroke for Moreton Bay’s Artisans Guild

Once a blank canvas, The Artisans Guild of Caboolture and District Inc is a now masterpiece thanks to a $486,000 plus contribution from Moreton Bay Regional Council.

Councillor for Division 2 Peter Flannery said the project, which took 21 weeks to complete, included an extension of the group’s existing building at Burpengary East.

“The Artisans’ Guild has played a pivotal role in the community for more than 30 years - providing a space for residents to  improve their art skills, sell their work and socialise,” he said.

“Now they can expand their services with a new workshop, two large storerooms and amenities.

“The Artisans Guild also supports a number of charities through the sale of their artworks, so it’s fantastic to be able to give back to this very talented group of people to acknowledge their hard work over the years.”

Artisans Guild president Jacqui Ferguson thanked Council for its contribution.

“We are very grateful for Council’s support, which really has given this space a new lease of life,” she said.

“A bigger space means we can triple the number of workshops we provide, store more equipment and hold more stalls to showcase our works.

“Even better, by increasing the number of workshops we can provide we also welcome new members; and by holding more stalls we can support more charities.”

The Artisans Guild of Caboolture & District Inc is located on the corner of Maitland Road and Old Bay Road, Burpengary East. For more information head to: www.artisansguild.org.au
