Queensland Reconciliation Awards nominations are now open
Chris Whiting MP is calling on community organisations to nominate the 2019 Queensland Reconciliation Awards.
These awards will bring to light reconciliation initiatives and projects that are strengthening our State culturally and economically.
“It is so important to recognise the efforts toward reconciliation in our communities,” said Chris Whiting.
“That includes all the work being done by local businesses, organisations, government-owned corporations, and educational institutions.
“By nominating those treading the path towards reconciliation, we are uncovering great work in our local community that could remain unknown,” said Chris Whiting.
Nominations will be accepted from Monday 7 January 2019 to Monday 25 February 2019.
The four categories for awards are business, education, community and partnership.
The Premier’s Reconciliation Award will also be presented to a nominated initiative that has demonstrated innovative strategies and exceptional outcomes towards advancing reconciliation in Queensland.
Recipients will be announced at a ceremony during National Reconciliation Week from 27 May to 3 June 2019 with $5000 in prize money for the winner of each category.
