Hazard Reduction Burn - Banksia Beach & Burpengary
Moreton Bay Regional Council will conduct a hazard reduction burn on Wednesday August 8 at Bribie Island Community Arts Centre, Sunderland Drive, in Banksia Beach, weather permitting.
Residents in Banksia Beach and surrounding areas may notice smoke during and after the burn.
Plus the Moreton Bay Regional Council will conduct a hazard reduction burn on Wednesday August 8 at Caboolture Region Environmental Education Centre (CREEC), Rowley Road, in Burpengary, weather permitting.
Residents in Burpengary and Narangba areas may notice smoke during and after the burn.
People should keep away from the burn during and in the days following the event.
Asthmatics and people sensitive to smoke are advised to stay indoors and keep their windows and doors closed.
Motorists in the area should drive to the conditions. Pets and livestock should be secured, if necessary.
Council hazard reduction burn crews work closely with the Queensland Fire and Emergency Services to undertake planned burns.
