Bribie Island water tower artworks complete
After 10 months, four proposed designs and nearly 1350 community votes, the two Bribie Island water tower artworks are complete.
As part of Unitywater’s Community Artwork Program, the Woorim and Bongaree towers have a new lease on life after receiving murals guided and chosen by the local community.
The artworks were celebrated today (10 July) at a small event at Bribie Island Bowls Club to acknowledge the locals and businesses involved in bringing the towers to life.
Unitywater Community Relations Manager Chris Jones said they were thrilled with the outcome.
“The finished artworks are beautiful and really celebrate the unique Bribie Island culture and community,” he said.
“We would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who was involved in the design and consultation process and those who voted.
“The purpose of this program is to have community-driven artworks that improve the appearance of our assets and these two towers reflect what the Bribie Island community wanted to see on their towers.
“We also thank our fantastic artists from Street Art Murals Australia who have again produced wonderful work for the community to admire and enjoy.”
