Next round open for Gambling Community Benefit Fund
Pumicestone community organisations have until the end of next month to apply for grants worth between $500 and $35,000 as part of the Gambling Community Benefit Fund.
Every year the fund distributes about $53 million to Queensland communities that allows local groups to upgrade facilities and purchase much-needed equipment.
Member for Pumicestone, Rick Williams MP said the Palaszczuk Government was committed to ensuring valuable Queensland community groups had the funding they needed to provide vital services to their region.
“Late last month we announced $12.4 million for 602 community groups in Queensland,” Mr Williams said.
“This money ensured community groups would be able to install facilities such as shade shelters and playgrounds, and allow other not-for-profit organisations to purchase new equipment.
“The next round of the Gambling Community Benefit Fund is now open and I encourage community groups across Queensland to apply for funding.”
The Gambling Community Benefit Fund is Queensland’s largest one-off grants program and collects revenue generated by gambling and distributes it back into the community.
Not-for-profit and community-based organisations are eligible to apply.
Applications close August 31.
