Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service Hazard reduction burn planned for D’Aguilar National Park
The Moreton Bay Regional Council wishes to advise the Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service will undertake a bushfire hazard reduction burn from Tuesday, May 10 to Friday, May 13, north of Kluvers Lookout within the D’Aguilar National Park, weather conditions permitting.
People in Mt Mee, Mt Pleasant and Dayboro may notice smoke in the vicinity.
Residents, visitors and businesses should keep away from the burn during and in the days following the event.
Asthmatics and people sensitive to smoke are advised to stay indoors and keep their windows and doors closed.
Motorists in the area should drive to the conditions.
Pets and livestock should be secured, if necessary.
Hazard reduction burn crews work closely with the Queensland Fire and Emergency Services to undertake planned burns.
Council encourages local residents to prepare themselves and their property for the upcoming fire season.
