Redcliffe Sails Festival is on Good Friday at Suttons Beach
A bunch of buccaneers, Captain Jack Sparrow and a skydiving Easter Bunny will take over the beach on Good Friday during the Redcliffe Sails Festival.
The festival is on at Suttons Beach, Redcliffe, from 9am to 4pm.
A Moreton Bay Regional Council spokesman said it had long been the perfect way for families to kick off the Easter weekend.
“For 15 years families have flocked to Suttons Beach for the Redcliffe Sails Festival,” the spokesman said. “Kids will be spoilt for choice at this year’s festival with a huge range of fun workshops, beach activities, carnival rides and the chance to sail their very own boat and build the ultimate sand castle.”
Free children’s workshops include pirate masks from 9-11am, wooden sail boat building from 11.15am to 1.15pm, and pirate hats from 1.30-4pm.
The Easter Bunny will drop in from 14,000 feet, skydiving onto the beach at 10am for the traditional Easter egg hunt. There will also be live music and more than 150 gourmet food and market stalls. Entertainment will include Jukebox Heroes, Rumba Fuego, The Dillon James Band, Drew Bennedick Live, Carl Wockner, Keely and Campbell, and Celtic Fusion.
A free shuttle bus service will run between Redcliffe Showground, where parking is available, and Suttons Beach.
