Mark Ryan MP says Bring a smile to a child this Christmas
They say it takes a village to raise a child, and this is particularly true for children who cannot live with their own families.
State Member for Morayfield, Mark Ryan MP, joined with the Caboolture Sports Club and Mr Toys Toyworld in Morayfield to make a donation to this year’s Bring a Smile to a Child Appeal.
“For children and young people who live away from home, Christmas can be a difficult time,” Mr Ryan said.
“This appeal is about supporting kids and their foster carers at a time when they might otherwise miss out.”
Sports Manager of the Caboolture Sports Club, Tony Clarke, said that the Sports Club was thrilled to continue its Christmas tradition of supporting kids in care.
“In previous years, Caboolture Sports Club has helped out with this appeal and we were very keen to continue to support this worthwhile cause,” Mr Clarke said.
“This year, we are pleased to be donating a thousand dollars’ worth of toys that will go to kids in care right here in the Caboolture region.”
The Bring a Smile to a Child Appeal is coordinated by the Department of Child Safety. Donations can be made directly to the Caboolture Department of Child Safety Service Centre at Level 2, 33 King Street Caboolture or by phoning 07 5490 1000.
