SEQ motorists urged to save and fuel up now

The state’s peak motoring body has urged motorists in the south east to take advantage of bargains at the bowser during an extended cheap phase of the petrol price cycle.

RACQ spokesperson Renee Smith said it was week six of the cycle, and unleaded petrol at most service stations was selling at below the wholesale price.

“While the price cycle is even more unpredictable than usual, it’s currently spelling good news for motorists wanting to save money at the pump,” Ms Smith said.

“After two failed price hikes in the past fortnight, average ULP prices have now fallen several cents per litre (cpl) below wholesale.

“We’re noticing prices as low as 108.9cpl in areas including Underwood, Woodridge and Slacks Creek.

“Motorists wanting to save money should fill up without hesitation as we know these cheap prices won’t last.

” ULP averages: Brisbane 111.5 cpl (Cheapest ULP average in Queensland) Gold Coast 111.5cpl (Cheapest ULP average in Queensland) Sunshine Coast 117.1cpl.
