Crossbench Senator Ricky Muir has launched an online campaign for rural drivers to highlight potholes and poorly-maintained roads.
Sen Muir called on the public to photograph the dodgy roads and send the pictures to him or upload on social media, hash tagged #saverurallives.
He said he would then use them to push for more funding for roads around the country, as a Senate inquiry also examines road safety.
It follows the National Rural Health Alliance telling the inquiry that rural road deaths account for 50% of all road fatalities in Australia.
