A 42-year old man was taken to hospital in the early hours of Friday after being bitten on the finger by a sea snake on Bribie Island.

Paramedics were called at approximately 2am to Marina Boulevard at Banksia Beach.

The man was taken to hospital in a stable condition.

Meanwhile, Queensland Ambulance reported a short time ago that the Caboolture Hospital was very busy.

Queensland Health and the ambulance service were working together to resolve the delays caused by a high number of medical and emergency cases.
