Federal Election 2016 : Malcolm Turnbull and Bill Shorten to face off in debate

Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull and Opposition Leader Bill Shorten will hold their first face-to-face debate on Friday night.

It will take the form of a people's forum in the western Sydney electorate of Macquarie held by Liberal Louise Markus, Sky News reports, with the leaders taking questions from audience members.

The event has been organised by Sky News and the Daily Telegraph newspaper and will be broadcast live on Sky.

Tune in to Sky News on Friday night from 6PM EST, where Sky News' political editor David Speers will host the forum.
