A very popular family beach is Suttons Beach in Redcliffe. It is one of the best swimming beaches on the peninsular with its gentle waves being ideal for children and great views across Moreton Bay. There is plenty of sand to find a spot to set up chairs, umbrellas or find an area back from the sand under a shady tree. Ample parking available, numerous barbecues, picnic tables and a large fenced in children’s playground. Bring your own ingredients for a barbecue breakfast or lunch, or support one of the many takeaways nearby. This beach is also very popular for families to spend Christmas day, but, make sure you get there early. A very welcome recent addition is a new access ramp for people with disabilities and 50 metres of beach matting for wheelchairs to get closer access to the water.

The Caboolture Historical Village at 280 Beeburrum Road, Caboolture, is an ideal place to take the family for a visit into yesteryear. Step into the past when you visit the old Post Office, Barber shop, Butcher, General store, Hospital and lot’s more. There’s a Prisons Museum, the old Caboolture Railway station, an exhibit of model ships from the first fleet to arrive in Sydney in 1788 and Military Museum. The Village has recently unveiled an exciting new attraction. Mr. William Geddes, known as the ‘lord’ of Caboolture has returned to the same Post Office where he worked back in 1869. They have created a full-size ‘life-like’ hologram of Mr. Geddes who welcomes visitors & talks about his journey and life in Caboolture. Definitely worth a visit.
