DESCRIPTION:Melanoma March Bribie Island is a fun community event where participants can walk or march along a short course to raise awareness about melanoma and funds for life-changing research. \nBribie Island welcomes Melanoma March to its community again for the third time in 2017. The march will commence from Foreshore Crest Park\, on Marine Parade\, Bellara\, and heads north to Sunset Park before returning to Foreshore Crest Park. \nRegistrations on the day open from 7am. Please make sure you give yourself enough time before the walk commences to check in. The march will commence from 8am. \nParticipating in Melanoma March is a great way to show your support for melanoma research\, raise funds to find a cure and have a fun day out with your community. All funds raised will go towards crucial research dedicated to finding a cure for melanoma. \nGETTING THERE: \nThere is ample parking at the Volunteer Marine Rescue\, Marine Parade\, Bellara. \nParticipants can also choose to take public transport. The Bribie Island Park & Ride service has a number of options to get to Foreshore Crest Park. DESCRIPTION:VMR Bribie Island will host a series of 5 free educational workshops on boating safety\, to be held once a month on a Sunday from 2pm to 5pm.  The workshops are perfect for beginners.   We invite all residents and visitors to the Moreton Bay region to attend.  The topics will include: \n\n10th JUL   – Safe Boating & Fishing regulations\n14th AUG – Local Knowledge Moreton Bay & Pumicestone Passage\n11th SEP – Local Fishing tips and tricks\n9th OCT    – Basic Navigation\n13th NOV – Small boat engines and maintenance\n\nThe first workshop will be Sunday 10th July 2016 at 2pm at the VMR Bribie Island Base. At this free public workshop\, Qld Water Police will be partnering with: Maritime Safety Qld\, Qld Boating and Fishing Patrol\, National Parks and Wildlife\, Qld Police and VMR Bribie Island. Attendees will have the opportunity to receive information/ask questions regarding marine safety concerns\, rules and regulations in SE Qld.
