DESCRIPTION:Bribie Island Croquet Club is holding its annual fund-raising event on Saturday 2nd November 2019 with all funds raised going to the Bribie Island Dementia Support Group. \nThe Dementia Support Group is self-funded and its members are primarily made up of carers new and long term\, supporting loved ones with dementia at home and transitioning into nursing home care. \nDementia can come in many forms and for carers can be extremely stressful\, lonely and socially isolating. \nThe group offers a safe and supportive environment for carers to share their concerns and feel they are not alone. \nIt also provides information about government entitlements and other supports available in the community. \nThe group meet on the 1st Monday of the month for lunch and on the 3rd Monday for a meeting with invited guest speakers and an opportunity to share their concerns\, ideas and frustrations with other carers. \nMoney raised will assist the group to provide information and raise community awareness about support available to carers and people with dementia. \nSimone Wilson. Member for Pumicestone is the Patron for the Dementia Group. \nThe Bribie Island Croquet Club is planning a fun day where the entire community can be involved. \nNo prior croquet experience is required by participants. \nThe fun day will run from 10.30 am to 4.30 pm and will begin in the morning with a range of fun croquet activities. \nA sausage sizzle will be held from 11.00 am with the community club challenge in the afternoon. \nThere will be raffles with great prizes\, a trash and treasure market stall and a yummy afternoon tea available. \nHow can your organisation or club help? \nThe Bribie Island Croquet Club is requesting your support in the following ways: \nMake a monetary donation toward the fund-raising event \nProvide items for the raffle or market stall \nJoin in morning fun activities \nMost importantly put together a team (s) of four people from your club or organisation to compete in the Annual Community Club Croquet Challenge \nThe Community Club Challenge is made up of teams of four competing against each other in games of croquet for the honour of winning an award and having their name placed on the ongoing Croquet Mallet Trophy 2019. \nAll equipment is provided\, with some coaching in the finer art of croquet before competing. \nYou are guaranteed to have lots of fun and your support will greatly assist the Bribie Island Dementia Support Group

DESCRIPTION:Bribie Island Croquet Club is holding its annual fund-raising event on Saturday 24th November 2018 with all proceeds going to the Bribie Island & District Neighbourhood Centre. \nThe Neighbourhood Centre is a Not for Profit organisation which provides a range of free services to those doing it tough in our local community. \nThe services include: \nInformation and referral\, Parenting programs\, Family support\, Relationship counselling\, Emergency Relief\, Financial counselling\, Food distribution. \nThe Neighbour Centre is also an outlet for Centrelink\, Community Legal Services and Employment Services. \nIt is supported by a small number of highly skilled professional staff as well as dedicated volunteers. \nBribie Island Croquet Club is planning a FUN day where the entire community can be involved.  No prior knowledge of croquet is required by participants. \nThe fund-raising day will run from 10:00am to 5:00pm and will begin in the morning with a range of fun social games and team events. \nA Sausage Sizzle from noon and the Community Club Challenge in the afternoon. \nThere will be raffles throughout the day and a Make It\, Bake It\, Grow It\, Sew it Market Stall.\nHow can your organisation or club help? \nBribie Croquet Club is requesting your support in any or all of these ways: \nMake a monetary donation toward the fund-raising event\, Provide items for the raffle or market stall\, Join in morning social games and Most importantly to put together a team(s) of four people from your club or organisation to compete in the Annual Community Club Challenge. \nThe Community Club Challenge consists of teams competing against each other in a game of croquet for the honour of winning an award and having their name placed on the Croquet Mallet Trophy for 2018. \nAll equipment is provided\, and participants will be given coaching in the finer art of playing croquet before competing. \nYou are guaranteed to have lots of fun and your support will greatly assist the valuable ongoing work of the Neighbourhood House. \nPlease contact Jan Rees – 0437 008 042 or Lyn Beh – 0419 404 166 if you would like to donate toward the Fund Raiser and/or enter a team in the Community Club Challenge
