SUMMARY:REFOCUS Family Fun Day - Child Protection on September 13
DESCRIPTION:REFOCUS Family Fun Day – Child Protection \nWe expect around 1000 plus attendees at the REFOCUS Family Fun Day. This family-friendly community day will offer hands-on activities and cultural celebrations. These events will feature a variety of inclusive and engaging elements such as jumping castles\, sausage sizzles\, traditional face painting\, Indigenous dancing\, art workshops\, yarning circles\, and food stalls. We will also include Bright Bag donations\, dili bags\, and information booths to connect families with local support services. \nA central feature of our celebration is the Community Art Project: “Safe Hands.” In this activity\, children will trace and decorate their hands with drawings or messages about what makes them feel safe. These powerful artworks will be displayed in local schools\, libraries\, and community centers as a public reminder of  every child’s right to safety and love. \n

SUMMARY:Walk For Mason Caboolture Saturday 18 February
DESCRIPTION:252 days on from when emergency services found the broken and violated little body of a 21-month-old boy\, the Queensland home town of little Mason Jett Lee will hold a very special walk in his honor.\n \nIn recent weeks the entire world has watched on in amazement as millions of people in Australia and around the globe flood streets\, airports and brave below zero freezing temperatures taking a stand against those who are failing to defend what and whom they love. \n \nMillions of people around the world all rallying not as protestors – but protectors. Protectors of women’s bodies\, Constitutions\, democracy and the Earth. All because men and women just like you and me are finding those in positions of protecting – are failing too.  \n \nOf all the battles worth joining in the world\, there is none more worthy of a voice of millions than the fight for those who can’t – our children.\n \nOn Saturday\, February 18\, the town of Caboolture will walk in memory of Mason Jett Lee\, a little 21-month-old boy who died very slowly\, in agony\, alone and afraid last June – failed by all of those around him.\n \nThose people included child welfare authorities\, whom despite doctors advising Mason had suffered the worst injuries they had ever seen from suspected deliberate and sexual abuse\, allowed his release back into the hands of those who would ultimately charged by police for his death. \n \nWhen we walk for Mason in Caboolture on Saturday\, February 18th\, it’s our collective voices saying that no longer will Queenslanders sit idly back and leave the protection of our kids to the hands of those not up to the task.\n \nIt is a promise that we – the people of Queensland – will be the voice for our kids who are in desperate need of a real life hero.\n \nWe walk in our commitment to ensuring ‘Mason Jett Lee’s Law’ is passed into legislation\, which will ensure a bigger broader net of collaborating agencies monitoring high risk children.\n \nIt is our vow that child welfare authorities will never again ignore the babies\, the school children\, and the teenagers being neglected and abused\, because we will now be watching out for our kids.\n \nWe walk for Mason with broken hearts for the precious little man we lost\, but as one fiercely united voice for as many as “4000 other Mason’s out there waiting to die in hell-holes purporting to be caring families in Queensland tonight”.(The Courier Mail\, November 2016).\n \nWe hope you will will be able to share the news of our event on your station so more people will join us on the streets of Caboolture\, Saturday February 18.\n \n\nFurther details can be found on our Facebook page – https://www.facebook.com/actformason/
