DESCRIPTION:Australian Native Orchid Spo Inc. in association with ANOS KABI Group Inc. invite all orchid growers to their 9th Triennial Show and Conference in Strathpine\, Brisbane in 2019. \nThis is the 9th Native Orchid Conference & Show which will have the best display of Australasian orchids in flower which should thrill not only the orchid enthusiast but also the general public. \nANOS actively promotes the conservation and the preservation of our orchid heritage. \nThrough our show we hope to educate the general public and let you see the wide range of colours\, shapes and sizes that exist in our own orchids. Of course the very flashy ‘King Orchid’ will be there but does the public know that there are six different varieties of ‘King Orchids’? As well as the flowering orchids\, there will be an orchid photographic exhibition and botanical art exhibition and sales plus orchids and orchid supplies for sale from Australian and overseas vendors ranging from seedlings to orchids in flower. Orchid cultural advice is available. \nLight meals are available. Come along and join in the fun\, expand your knowledge\, catch up with old friends and make new ones. \nThe orchid show will have floor and bench displays\, with Champion Hybrid and Champion Species both receiving $500.      As well as photographic competition there is a display of botanical art with items for sale. \nAll judges and those in training are strongly encouraged to attend. Helen Richards (Vic.)\nHelen Richards OAM has wide experience in conservation and cultivation of terrestrial orchids is a Director of the Australian Orchid Foundation. Robert Reitano (Qld).\nA focus on the particular cultural requirements and breeding of the sections Spatulata\, Phalaenanthe and Latouria.
