Vantage points are Howard Smith Wharves\, South Bank\, Queen’s Wharf Brisbane\, Riverside Centre and Kangaroo Point. \nProduced by a crew of 22 and using 9 tonnes of fireworks and equipment\, the displays will feature a new heart multi-shot\, a round rain effect\, and a halo ring. Each fireworks display goes for 10 minutes. \nThis year’s program will also feature 2 drone shows\, a brand-new addition to the event. Taking place at 9pm and 11pm\, they will include 200 drones and run for 8 minutes each. These will be visible from South Bank and Queen’s Wharf Brisbane only. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nGetting there\n\n\n\n\nPublic transport is the best way to travel to each of the precincts for the fireworks. \nFree travel applies from 8.00pm on New Year’s Eve (Wednesday 31 December 2025) until 5.30am on New Year’s morning (Thursday 1 January 2026) for all Translink bus\, train\, ferry and tram services in South East Queensland – this includes Council buses\, CityCats and ferry services. \nFree travel does not apply on Airtrain services\, long distance trains or on demand services. \nCustomers do not need to tap on/off at card validators during the free travel period\, unless they are travelling to the Brisbane Airport station.

While the main program starts at 6.30pm\, come early for pre-Carols entertainment by Good Company singers from 6.00pm\, while you enjoy your BYO family picnic. \nA band of volunteer musicians will lead our sing-a-long of Christmas Carol favourites. \nDan Warlow\, an Australian Kids’ Music artist and entertainer returns this year to once again delight your kids (and adults) with dancing\, singing and having a fun time. \nWe welcome back amazing singer songwriter Tammy Mathieson\, who has enchanted our Carols on the Oval audiences since she first sang for us as a teenager in 2008. \nLocal Dance Studio\, Island Dance\, will showcase their brilliance with their energetic and fun dances. She wanted to start with Australia and then the world.Char’s Travelling Turtles has been created to honour Charlize’s wish to travel the world. The collection started with John Ward’s interest in the topic\, resulting in his book\, the one remaining rubbing\, and the brass on display in the Museum. \nThese rubbings provide clues as to the person’s identity\, how the families drew attention to their status and affirming their position in society. Brasses and rubbings also provide rich visual imagery for those interested in all aspects of social history. \nBrass rubbing was\, and still is\, a comparatively easy hobby\, much like rubbing a coin or anything else with a textured surface. In more recent times what used to take place in churches\, abbeys and cathedrals has now moved into dedicated brass rubbing centres. \nThe lunch commences at 1.00pm – join us for a delicious two-course meal (main meal of meat and salad plus dessert). Wine and juice are also included. \nThe presentation will commence at 2.00pm. \nAll are welcome.
