SUMMARY:Bribie Island Pink Golf Day Charity Fundraiser Event Friday March 12 from 11 am
DESCRIPTION:This year the Bribie Island Cancer Council Branch with the support of the Sunshine Coast office is continuing with Karen’s legacy.  \nBribie Island local and dedicated cancer council fundraiser\, Karen Highlands\, sadly lost her fight with cancer in May 2020. An avid golf fan\, Karen founded the ‘Bribie Island Pink Golf Day’ in 2019\, raising $21\,000 to fund vital research and cancer support services.  \nFinding out her cancer had come back didn’t stop Karen. She stayed focused on her goal of making the Bribie Island Pink Golf Day an annual event\, backing it up by raising another $20\,000 in March 2020.  \nWhilst Karen is gone\, we won’t let her memory and all that she worked for be forgotten. We are determined to pay homage to Karen’s fighting spirit and continue her great work through her beloved event on the 12 March 2021 at Bribie Island Golf Club.

DESCRIPTION:Bribie artists Corinne Purcell and Min Philpot are pleased to be joining together for their exciting exhibition “The Sky’s the Limit’’ from March 2 – 14 at Matthew Flinders Gallery Bribie Community Arts Centre. \n  \nThis exhibition will feature works in all sizes and mediums for a dazzling display that will include more than 50 pieces from intricate jewelry to large bold resin triptychs. \n \nCorinne Purcell has lived on Bribie for almost 20 years and in this time has enjoyed sharing her artistic skills on murals locally in hospitals\, restaurants\, kindergartens and private commissions. This exhibition\, however will feature her works in; resin\, watercolor\, acrylics\, mixed media and photography. \nCorinne’s works have been inspired from a love of the outdoors\, the mystical and finding creative vision from unexpected places. Min was delighted with this honour\,  which she says\, has kept her interested in continuing to enter art competitions. \nMin has a love for the environment\, wildlife and  music and she sees painting as a natural way to be expressive. \n  \nThe artists hope you can come along to see their work and join in a shared celebration of “The Sky’s the Limit’’ at Bribie Island Community Arts Centre\, 191 Sunderland Drive Banksia Beach\, open Tuesday through Saturday  9am- 4pm and 9am – 1pm Sundays.
