SUMMARY:2025 Mac's Bridge Classic Car and Aircraft Festival Sunday July 6
DESCRIPTION:Mac’s Bridge 2025 Promises a Day of Wheels\, Wings\, and Warplanes. \nThe Mac’s Bridge Classic Car and Aircraft Festival is set to roar into Caboolture Airfield on Sunday July 6\, 2025\, and this year\, it is bringing an extra layer of history to the tarmac.\nFollowing its 2024 debut at Caboolture Airfield\, this great Queensland tradition—uniting vintage cars\, classic aircraft and featuring the Australian Aviation Heritage Centre and now a rare peek inside the Caboolture Warplane Museum—promises a day of nostalgia\, horsepower\, and high-flying heritage. \nWhether you are a gearhead\, a plane-spotter\, or just out for a cracking winter outing\, this is one Sunday you will not want to miss. There is a small charge for entry to both aviation venues. \nIn 2024\, the Festival—sponsored by the Triumph Sports Owners Association Queensland (TSOAQ)\, the Mazda MX-5 Club\, and the Caboolture Aero Club—drew thousands to marvel at a stunning blend of  “wheels and wings.” \nThink of polished Triumphs parked beside Tiger Moths\, MX-5s gleaming next to T28 Trojans\, all set against the airfield’s grass cross strip. This year’s shift to July 6th —a tweak from last year’s July 14th perch—suggests organizers are fine-tuning the event\, aiming for clear skies and a seamless showcase. And with a shuttle bus travelling to the Caboolture Warplane Museum from the main entry gate\, attendees are in for an even deeper dive into aviation’s past. \nExpect the usual feast of classics: a Jaguar E-Type’s curves catching the sun\, a Harvard trainer’s growl stirring the air\, and the Australian Aviation Heritage Centre’s treasures—like the RAAF Caribou or a Vietnam-era Huey— standing proud. Last year’s fly-ins faltered under late winds from Boonah\, but 2025 could see more vintage birds land\, with live demos if the weather plays nice. \nOn the car front\, exhibitors will roll out everything from historic gems to modified icons\, chasing the Presidents’ Trophies judged by the host club trio. Add in the museum’s tours—showcasing meticulously preserved warplanes like the P-51 Mustang or CAC Winjeel—and you have got a lineup that’s equal parts showroom and time machine. \nThis isn’t just an event; it’s a community. The Caboolture venue\, easily reached off the Bruce Highway\, buzzes with families\, enthusiasts\, and first-timers alike—drawn by food trucks\, picnic marquees\, and the chance to chat with owners. Organizers are bringing back pre-entry email ticketing alongside day-of payments\, smoothing the flow from 2024’s gate rush. \nDIRECTIONS \nFrom BRUCE HIGHWAY\, take Bribie Island off ramp (exit 152A) and proceed towards Bribie\, keeping in left lane. Take the left turn at the first set of traffic lights\, keeping in the right hand of the two left turn lanes.\nAfter the turn\, keep straight on along Aerodrome Rd until you reach the airfield and follow local direction signs. \n \n  \nA few tweaks—more seats\, better signs\, a radial engine firing up—could elevate it further\, building on last year’s grassroots charm without losing the soul. \nChallenges remain—weather’s a wild card and syncing fly-ins with car displays takes finesse—but the TSOAQ\, MX-5 Club\, and Aero Club have the passion to pull it off. \nJuly 6th is a chance to see Queensland’s heritage roar to life: the Spitfire’s Merlin echoing wartime\, a Corvette’s chrome shining through decades\, and now the museum’s warplanes whispering  their own legends. Gates open at 7 a.m. for exhibitors\, 9 a.m. for visitors—bring your hat\, your curiosity\, and a mate who will argue Mustang vs. Mustang (car or plane\, take your pick). \nWith tours at the Warplane Museum and Aviation Heritage Centre\, Mac’s Bridge 2025 is not just a show; it’s a full-throttle journey. See you there. \n  \nMac’s Bridge 2025 at Caboolture Aero Club \nSunday 6th July 2025 \nGates Open – Display Cars 7.00am\, Visitors 9.00am \nEntrance Fees\, To be confirmed\n \nDISPLAY CAR – $20 PER CAR\nVISITORS (INCLUDING PARKING) – $15 PER CAR\nPayment is available at the gate via cash or eftpos.\nTickets for entry via the express lane can be purchased from the link below. \nhttps://www.trybooking.com/CXYNH \n \n  \nNote from the organising committee for the 2025 event \nTRIUMPH SPORTS OWNERS ASSOCIATION QLD\, MX5 CLUB QLD and caboolture aero club are organising the 2025 event with a larger display of classic aircraft and a new food court featuring an undercover seating area\nadjacent to vans offering a variety of menus and drinks. \nThree awards for “Presidents Choice” will be presented at 11:00am. \nThanks from \nTriumph Sports Owners Association / Mazda MX5 Club / Caboolture Aero Club. \n  \n

Cathy Come Home and Young Girl\, before disbanding in 1969. \nAxiom with Brian Cadd followed shortly thereafter\, with hits including Arkansas Grass and Little Ray of Sunshine. Soon after\, in 1970 Axiom disbanded whilst in London. Glenn chose to remain in London as a session singer and songwriter working with other ex-pats and Europeans in a twelve-piece rock orchestra named Esperanto. \nLate 1974\, Glenn returned to Melbourne to help form Little River Band as lead singer. Managed by long-time friend\, Glenn Wheatley\, Little River Band cracked the lucrative United States market in 1976\, and began a string of eight Top Ten Hits in the U.S.A. and around the world. The band has sold in excess of 30 million albums\, often being credited for opening the door for many Australian acts on the international circuit. A career highlight was producing and performing alongside Sir George Martin in the highly acclaimed\nproduction All You Need Is Beatles (1998). He performed the role of Johnny Casino in the smash hit Grease: The Arena Spectacular!\, which played to full houses across Australia and in Auckland; co-starred in British Rock Symphony with Eric Burdon and Thelma Houston\, performing the hits of the\nBeatles\, Led Zeppelin\, Pink Floyd\, Rolling Stones and The Who; and toured Australia with the successful Long Way to the Top concert series with Axiom and Twilights. 2002 re-introduced Glenn\, Graeham Goble and Beeb Birtles on stage as Birtles Shorrock Goble performing the famous classics with which Little River Band captured the world and produced the Full Circle DVD\, a live concert recording of them performing at the Forum Theatre in Melbourne. Glenn also regularly performs on behalf of various charities and continues as an ambassador for Variety. As a testament to his enduring talent\, he has been twice inducted into the ARIA Hall of Fame first in 1991 in his own right and again with The Little River Band in 2004. \nOn 9 September\, 2016 Glenn released his first album in many years\, ‘Rise Again’ through Social Family Records. A collection of songs composed by himself and a few friends. In 2018 Glenn published his auto biography ‘Now Where Was I?” through New Holland Publishers. A beautifully presented hard back that contains many personal and professional photographs from Glenn’s life. \nGlenn released his most recent album in March 2019 ‘Glenn Shorrock Sings Little River Band’ (through Social Family Records) which features ten of LRB’s greatest hits\, brilliantly re-imagined by Shorrock and produced and recorded live in studio by Steve Balbi along with an outstanding array of\nmusicians who joined Shorrock to record the album. \nOn 10th December\, 2021 Glenn’s 1982 solo album ‘Villain of the Peace’ was re-released by Universal Music on all streaming platforms. The album features an incredible all-star line-up backingGlenn\, it’s a who’s who of 80’s rock. Glenn has also starred alongside veteran actors\, Maggie Blinco and Belinda Giblin in an Australian movie ‘A Stitch In Time’\, written\, directed and produced by Sasha Hadden. The movie was released in Event and independent cinemas across Australia in February 2022 an received excellent reviews by the critics. \nGlenn continues to be a much-loved Australian entertainment icon\, and is regularly invited to perform at major events and venues across Australia. “I have been blessed with a long and successful career and I’m doing some of my best work right at the moment” says Glenn. \nwww.glennshorrock.com \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \n

SUMMARY:Winter Harvest Festival at From Paddock to Plate to Party from township of Kalbar on June 28
DESCRIPTION:From Paddock to Plate to Party:  Scenic Rim Eat Local Month’s flavour-filled finale weekend to be a harvest celebration for the ages  – June 28  \n  \n  \nReady\, Set\, Esky: the much-loved Winter Harvest Festival is the perfect flavour-finale to Scenic Rim Eat Local Month\, Australia’s most authentic paddock-to-plate food and farming celebration. \n  \nAs the signature event of Eat Local Month\, it’s the golden ticket to taste the very best of the Scenic Rim’s seasonal bounty\, sip local wines\, beers\, and spirits\, and get the dirt on where food really comes from—all while soaking up unbeatable country hospitality in the stunning township of Kalbar. \n  \nTo be held on Saturday 28 June\, the festival brings the region’s Food Ambassador Chefs growers\, producers and flavour-makers together to deliver the ultimate farm-gate experience. There’s over 60 stalls to wander where you can taste and sip the flavours of the Scenic Rim\, witness the world famous Tractor Pull (can the veg growers hold onto the title this year!)\, and there’s incredible new workshops\, flavours and faces—plus of course\, Moffatt’s famous Carrot Ice Cream (did you know the Scenic Rim produces 600 million carrots a year and is the carrot capital of the country) and Carrot Tossing! \n  \nAcross the weekend the harvest celebrations continue in and around Kalbar. On Saturday fans can tip their hat to the trailblazers of the Scenic Rim who fed families long before Uber Eats. At the Celebration of Lost Culinary Arts in the gorgeous Kalbar School of Arts\, visitors can learn the art of bottling\, pickling\, and preserving—plus stock up on enough jams\, marmalades\, and chutneys to make your pantry pop. Recipes and culinary secrets handed down over generations will be shared in this in this truly wonderful celebration. \n  \nWhen the sun goes down there’s Saturday night’s Harvest Hoedown with country music stars Laura Frank\, Kaitlyn Thomas\, Ruby Jane and line dancing! On Sunday\, get your hands dirty picking produce with fifth-generation farmers at Valley Pride Produce or indulge in a farm-to-fork feast at Speckles on the Teviot. \n  \nWith on-site glamping\, coach tours from Brisbane and beyond\, and plenty of room for the whole family\, it’s the ultimate farm gate weekend—where the flavours of the Scenic Rim come together for an unforgettable celebration of local goodness! \n  \nScenic Rim Regional Council Mayor\, Tom Sharp said\, “Eat Local Month provides the perfect opportunity for our local community\, visitors and people of all ages\, backgrounds and tastes to enjoy an authentic paddock-to-plate experience and to renew their connection with our natural environment and agricultural production.” \n  \n“The Winter Harvest Festival is all of this in one wonderful day!” he said. “Traditionally\, growers have taken their product to market\, but increasingly we are seeing consumers wanting a closer connection with the source of their food by buying directly from the producers and growers in our region and the Winter Harvest Festival invites them to do just this. People are not only tasting the freshness and quality of the product but also gaining a greater understanding of the farmers’ experience\, their lifestyle and their dedication to quality produce. This raises awareness of the improvements being made in farming practices to build resilience in rural production and we’re seeing more and more artisans take raw and by-products to create something of even greater value.” \n  \n“From its modest beginnings in 2011\, the Winter Harvest Festival has provided a boost to our rural sector\, helping to create jobs and driving our region’s prosperity. Importantly\, it also helps to grow an appreciation for those who put food on our tables and of where our food comes from.” \n  \nWHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW \n  \nMarket Stalls to Fill Your Boots (and Your Esky!)\nThere’s more than 60 stalls showcasing everything from local cheeses and small goods to freshly harvested produce\, artisan spirits\, and handcrafted treasures. Low food miles guaranteed – you can see the paddocks this produce came from! \n  \nDemonstrations\, Workshops & More\nThe Homestead Kitchen will cook up a storm with Scenic Rim Food Ambassadors Alison Alexander\, Elliot Platz\, Glen Barratt\, Richard Ousby and Caz Osborne from Scenic Rim Cooking Classes\, serving up top tips for making the most of your local harvest. And if that’s not enough\, book into one of the ticketed hands-on workshops (think: brewing\, distilling\, and even mushroom growing) that’ll have you embracing your inner farmer faster than you can say ‘preserved lemons.’ \n  \nTractor Pull: The Battle of Brawn (and Bragging Rights!)\nAt the world-famous Tractor Pull\, presented by Community Bank Kalbar\, who’s got the muscle to wrestle a 10-tonne Kubota tractor across the finish line? Local butchers\, farmers\, and the Defence and local Council teams are all vying to reclaim the title from last year’s veggie-victors\, Kalfresh Vegetables. Bring your loudest cheer and witness the epic showdown—winner takes home cash for their local community group! \n  \nCelebration of Lost Culinary Arts presented by 612 ABC Radio Brisbane\nLearn the art of bottling\, pickling\, and preserving—plus stock up on enough jams\, marmalades\, and chutneys to fill your pantry. Hosted by Craig Zonca\, Loretta Ryan and Alison Alexander from 612 ABC Radio Brisbane\, this free event invites guests to explore traditional skills through talks\, demonstrations and market stalls—honouring the creativity\, resilience and culinary ingenuity that filled pantries and fed families long before refrigeration and supermarkets. \n  \nLive Music\, Food & Drink\nThink wood-fired pizzas with seasonal toppings\, BBQ’d local beef and freshly picked corn\, Spanish paella by Food Ambassador Chef Javier Codina from MODA\, hearty pies and sweet pastries from Food Ambassador Chef Glen Barratt plus all the local wines\, beers\, and spirits your heart desires—all soundtracked by live tunes from our homegrown musicians. It’s the ultimate farm gate party. \n  \nShare the Stories \nThroughout the day connect with the farmers and makers and hear their stories at the 612 ABC Radio Brisbane Producers Stage. \n  \nFun for the Littlies (and the Big Kids Too!)\nLittle farmers-in-the-making can get hands-on with carrot tossing\, tractor pulling\, farm animal cuddles\, face painting\, garden games\, and more.
