October 15, 2016 - October 16, 2016
Sailors from Bundaberg to Ballina and Toowoomba are being invited to attend the Belvedere Humpybash regatta at Woody Point, Redcliffe on Brisbane’s northern peninsula on 15 and 16 October 2016.
Humpybong Yacht Club president David Begley said Humpybash was traditionally one of the key Spring regattas for off the beach catamaran and dinghy sailors from throughout south eást Queensland and northern New South Wales.
“This year the event will again be proudly supported by the Belvedere Hotel and reflects the ongoing keen support by the Belvedere management and staff to maintain their involvement in Humpybash and we thank them for providing a welcoming venue for competitors, their families and friends.
“The Belvedere Humpybash is a major event on the sailing calendar marking the start of the 2016 -17 season and an opportunity for skippers and their crews to refresh and refine their skills for the Spring and Summer racing calendar.”
“”The Belvedere Humpybash is not only a great start to the sailing season but also a terrific social gathering where people can make new friends and renew contacts in the sailing fraternity.” Mr Begley said
“Humpybong Yacht Club is a family focused sailing club and we actively encourage and invite competitors of all experience levels to take part.” Mr Begley said.
Information on the Belvedere Humpybash entry registration is available on the Humpybong yacht club website at HYC.net.au.
Mr Begley said as with all major events at Humpybong, overnight camping will be available to competitors and their families. In addition to the social and culinary attractions available at the Belvedere hotel, Humpybong yacht club will conduct a canteen for the duration of the event.
Mr Begley said competitors are urged to register early to assist with event planning, logistics and catering.
