Queensland Road Safety Week 22-28 August
August 22, 2016 - August 28, 2016
Queensland Road Safety Week will run this year between 22-28 August and is an opportunity for all Queenslanders to get involved in making our roads safer.
‘Speaking up for road safety’ is the focus and we’re encouraging the whole community to have their say on road safety.
Communities, schools and workplaces are encouraged to support the week by hosting local events or sharing road safety information among staff, students, colleagues, family and friends.
Why not host a morning tea at work or have a free dress day at school? Perhaps invite the local Adopt-a-Cop to speak to students, or host a road safety quiz in your office.
You can share a personal story, suggest a road safety tip, talk to your kids, family and friends about staying safe, or make a pledge to improve a single road behaviour.
Queensland Road Safety Week is also about encouraging the community to challenge the status quo. Let’s stop accepting death and serious injury as just part and parcel of using our roads.
Speak up. Be heard. Make Queensland’s 2016 Road Safety Week an important event in your community’s calendar.
Register your event
Why not register your own Road Safety Week event and share the way you are making a difference in your local community? Be it your workplace, school, household, street or town, let us know what you are planning to do to celebrate Road Safety Week.
To register your event add it to the activities calendar.
Download the Road Safety Week toolkit
Once your event is registered, or if you need materials for your workplace or school, download the Road Safety Week toolkit for posters, screen savers, email signatures, decorations and factsheets.
