Pine Rivers Park to come alive with 10th annual Teddy Bears’ Picnic Wednesday September 14
September 14, 2016 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm
If you go down to Pine Rivers Park tomorrow (Wednesday, 14 September), you’re sure of a big surprise.
For every bear that ever there was will gather there for certain because that’s the day Moreton Bay Regional Council will host its annual Teddy Bears’ Picnic!
Deputy Mayor and Councillor for Division 9, Mike Charlton, said from 9.00am to 12.00pm noon Pine Rivers Park would transform into a picnic fit not only for families and teddies, but for characters of all shapes and sizes, with this year’s theme being ‘Fairy Tales’.
“The annual Teddy Bears’ Picnic is a great outing for little ones, their parents and of course – their teddies!” Cr Charlton said.
“Kids can enjoy free rides, face painting, activities, entertainment and games while parents and carers browse markets and information stalls.
“This year, entertainment will also include Larrikin Puppets, Nickleby the Magician and appearances from Snow White and Flutter the Fairy.
“All you need to bring is a picnic rug, packed picnic and your favourite teddy bear.
“We’re also encouraging kids to dress or decorate their teddy for this year’s fairy tale themed Teddy Bear Parade.”
Councillor for Division 8, Mick Gillam, said the Teddy Bear’s Picnic – now in its 10th year – was just one of the many family-friendly events run by Moreton Bay Regional Council each year.
“Events like the Teddy Bears’ Picnic are a great excuse to get outside and enjoy our wonderful region,” Cr Gillam said.
“We have a range of family-friendly events across the Moreton Bay Region all year round, including music shows, movies and annual favourites like the Teddy Bears’ Picnic.
“I encourage parents to keep an eye on Moreton Bay Regional Council’s website for updates on what events are coming up in your area.”
Moreton Bay Regional Council’s Teddy Bears’ Picnic is a free event, held at Pine Rivers Park (125 Gympie Road, Strathpine).
