Old Mountain Farm Lovers Australia Nigerian Dwarf Goat show

September 21, 2025 @ 9:00 am - 1:00 pm

  • « Brisbane Model Train Show 2025 20th & 21st September
  • Queensland Lace Guild Exhibition at Caboolture Historical Village – 6 to 28 September »

We will be at the Caboolture showground on Sunday 21st September in the undercover Arena.

You can see the world class Old Mountain Farm Nigerian Dwarf Goats being judged by Rick Howard.

We will have baby goats on display. Nigerian Dwarf goats have exceptional milk quality and are friendly, small and easy to handle. They make great pets.

Undercover Arena Caboolture showgrounds, gate 3 entry.

1. MANY USES FOR PRODUCTS AND COOKING
Nigerian Dwarf Goats produce the highest quality goats’ milk of all goats, including dairy goats. Genetically, their milk contains the highest butterfat, milk solids, and protein content – making it perfect for: cheese, soap, yoghurt, ice cream, buttermilk, skin care and lip balm, butter, cream, fudge, and kefir.

2.EASIER TO DIGEST
While the fat content of cow and goat milk is similar, the fat globules in goat milk are smaller, making it easier for your body to digest. Only about 2% of goats milk is curd, compared to about 10% in cow milk. Goat milk is also lower in lactose, or milk sugars, than cow milk.

3. FEWER ALLERGENIC PROTEINS & CAUSES LESS INFLAMMATION
Most people who are intolerant of cow milk lack the ability to digest the protein A1 casein. Cow’s milk contains more than 20 different allergens (including A1 casein) that can cause allergic reactions, including inflammation (affecting everything from IBS and leaky gut to acne and autoimmune diseases). Goats milk contains only A2 casein, making it, protein wise, the closest milk to human breast milk. One study suggests that goat milk, when used as the first protein after breast- feeding, is less allergenic for babies than cow milk.

4. HIGH IN CALCIUM AND FATTY ACIDS BUT LOW IN CHOLESTEROL
Many consume cow milk for its calcium but goat milk is actually richer in this vital mineral – with about 33% DV vs 28% DV in cow milk. Goat milk has high levels of medium-chain fatty acids – 30-35% vs 15-20% in cow milk. These fatty acids provide an energy boost that isn’t stored in body fat, help lower cholesterol and can even help treat conditions like coronary diseases and intestinal disorders. Goat milk helps increase “good” cholesterol levels while reducing the bad ones – its healing properties are similar to olive oil.
