Kallangur set for paw-some fun Saturday March 4

There will be something for ‘every man and his dog’ at Penson Park, Kallangur this Saturday, March 4 when Moreton Bay Regional Council hosts its fur-st ever Furry Friends in the Park event.

You won’t want to miss out on this op-paw-tunity to take part in a special celebration of our fur-ever friends, which includes a free screening of Dreamwork’s smash hit Kung Fu Panda 3.

Division 7 Councillor Denise Sims said from 4pm there would be loads of paw-some fun to be had for the whole family, including parents, children and their canine companions.

“From pup-corn to a bark-BQ, there will be plenty of market stalls on the day for you to discover, and your furry friends won’t miss out either with heaps of dog-friendly stalls to treat your pooch,” Cr Sims said.

There will also be a kung-fu demonstration from Red Dragon Martial Arts.

“The movie kicks off at 6.30pm, so don’t forget a blanket and chair to make yourself comfortable.

“Whether you’ve got a family full of canine companions, love to be around furry friends or are just keen to watch Kung Fu Panda 3, Furry Friends in the Park is the place to be on Saturday, March 4.

“You’ll be barking mad to miss this event!”

Kung Fu Panda 3 is the third instalment in the successful Dreamworks franchise, which sees panda Po reunite with his long-lost father and train a village full of other fun-loving, clumsy pandas to become the ultimate fighters to take on supernatural villain Kai, as Kai sweeps across China defeating all the kung-fu masters. Kung Fu Panda 3 is rated PG.

Furry Friends in the Park runs from 4pm to 8pm on Saturday, March 4 at Penson Park, Ann Street, Kallangur and is proudly supported by Division 7 Councillor Denise Sims.

Pet owners are reminded to keep their dog on a lead at all times.
