Battle of Long Tan Bribie Island’s 25th Vietnam Veterans Day Friday August 18

Friday August 18, 2017 is the day that veterans, family and friends will come together to remember the Battle of Long Tan at Bribie Island’s 25th Vietnam Veterans Day.

This is the day the Vietnam Veterans Association sets aside for a chance of both those who were there and the public honouring and remembering those who served and those that lost their lives in Vietnam.

The schedule of events on the day with begin with a march starting at the Bribie Island Sports Club at 4.05pm and leading down to the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Park where the service will begin at 4.20pm.

Several roads will be closed on the afternoon for approximately 30 minutes with detours in place.

Roads impacted by this event is as follows:

Toorbul St, Bongaree between Foster Streets and the roundabout at Spowers and McDonald streets will be closed from 3.50pm until 4.20pm on Friday, August 18

Webster and Campbell streets will also be closed at the Toorbul St end

There is a detour available along South Esplanade and Spowers St
