The Queensland Shakespeare Ensemble (QSE) is an artist-run ensemble based in Meanjin (Brisbane). Since its inception in 2001, QSE has built a reputation for energetic, accessible and unique productions, world-class actor training, and a strong commitment to community-based projects.

Our Shakespeare’s Shorts team is an elite, if slightly chaotic, squad of classical actors ready to perform some of Shakespeare’s most well-known and beloved works at the drop of a hat! After previously delighting Moreton Bay audiences with their popular Instant Romeo & Juliet and Express Macbeth, they’re back with Pick & (re)Mix and Half Hour Hamlet at this year’s festival.

This high-energy theatrical sprint takes out all the procrastination, distilling the brooding masterpiece into pure comic chaos. In one fast, fearless performance, the drama, betrayal and existential angst unfold at exhilarating speed.

Performed by five classically trained actors, this family-friendly adaptation is a fast, funny and accessible introduction to one of Shakespeare’s most famous plays and can be enjoyed by audiences of all ages and backgrounds. No prior Shakespeare knowledge required!

This festival is a partnership between City of Moreton Bay and Anywhere Festivals. This is our sixth year of presenting Anywhere Festival across the poly-centric City of Moreton Bay. There are 10 ticketed shows as well as a festival finale.
