A new era: Caboolture Sports Club’s $20 million dollar transformation plans revealed
Caboolture Sports Club is undergoing a transformative $20 million renovation, set to begin in April 2025 and conclude by mid-2026, that promises to elevate its dining experience to a level unmatched by rival venues in the Moreton Bay Region. This ambitious project, spanning the club’s 3,400-square-meter footprint, focuses heavily on redefining its food and beverage offerings, blending modern sophistication with community-rooted hospitality. The upgrades aim to set a new benchmark for club dining, combining expanded capacity, innovative menus, and luxurious ambiance.
The centerpiece of the dining overhaul is the revamped restaurant, which will nearly double its seating from 165 to 340, accommodating everything from intimate dinners to large gatherings. The menu will expand to emphasize premium steak and smoked meat options, served with full table service in a versatile space featuring elegant arches, brass trimmings, and textured finishes. This isn’t just an upscale facelift—it’s a deliberate push to outshine competitors by offering a refined yet accessible dining experience, distinct from other rival clubs and entertainment venues for members and guests.
Complementing the restaurant, the club’s café will grow from 60 to 140 seats, introducing an in-house pastry chef and a garden-inspired atmosphere with views through external windows. The enhanced menu will feature main meals delivered directly to tables, moving beyond standard café offerings to rival standalone eateries in variety and quality. This expansion targets a broader audience—families, casual diners, and coffee enthusiasts—positioning it as a day-to-night destination that nearby venues struggle to match.
A new specialty cocktail bar will further distinguish the club, hosting boutique events, live entertainment, and curated tastings in a chic setting with soft tones and sophisticated lighting. This addition aims to carve out a niche unmet by rival clubs, where bar experiences often lean toward generic sports or gaming vibes rather than curated leisure. Meanwhile, the sports bar, with its massive 10m x 5m LED screen and 120 seats, will pair premium beverages with an immersive viewing experience, appealing to sports fans without sacrificing the upscale feel permeating the renovations.
These dining enhancements are part of a broader vision to “redefine the region’s leisure spaces,” as stated by CEO Craig Thomas. The club’s investment—backed by its history of contributing over $12 million to local initiatives in the past five years—signals confidence in delivering an unmatched experience. Unlike competitors, which may focus on incremental updates or lean heavily on gaming revenue, Caboolture Sports Club is betting on a holistic transformation. The inclusion of a fully supervised kids’ club with a playground and movie theater ensures families are catered to, broadening its appeal beyond what rival venues typically offer.
Scheduled across three stages, the renovations prioritize minimal disruption, with temporary relocations ensuring continuity. Stage one (by August 2025) will unveil the café, cocktail bar, and lounge; stage two will complete the restaurant and kids’ facilities; and stage three (mid-2026) will finalize the sports bar and foyer. This phased approach reflects a strategic intent to roll out a dining experience that evolves into a regional standout, challenging the status quo of club offerings and setting a new standard for quality, variety, and atmosphere in Moreton Bay.
