The Food & Agribusiness Network Event at Luvaberry Wamuran: up close with Samantha Franklin from Epic Assist
We spoke with Samantha Franklin from Epic Assist.
With Samantha’s Job is completely different first Epic Assist is a non profit organisation and it is her job to match those with a disability to jobs in the industry which are looking for the skills that people that are disabled can offer.
Quite often Samantha explains some of the gifts that disabled people have are a perfect match for employers unable to attract abled bodied people to perform for example someone that is someone that works with patterns or repetitive nature may find them self a perfect match in the industry that requires these gifts.
With offices all over Australia its the core of Epic assist to match people with employers in meaningful long term employment.
A fact that one in five Australians have a disability highlights both the need for services like Epic Assist and even bigger the sheer numbers of Australians who want to work but may have been unable to tape into networks to allow them to accomplish that.
Historically disabled employees can be the most hard working and on time employees you will ever get, they are reliable.
