·       Scott McLaughlin ended the 22-year hoodoo in Darwin to become the first winner of the Triple Crown following his commanding 12th win of the season. The defending Supercars champion put the third jewel in the crown by winning Race 16 by a dominant 13.8 secs to add to Saturday’s race win and Sunday’s Top 10 Shootout. Now has a 319-point lead at the top of the championship.

Marc Marquez won his home Catalunya MotoGP while rookie Fabio Quartararo celebrated a first premier-class podium, on his return from arm-pump surgery, after an early incident took-out four of the frontrunners. Aussie Jack Miller finished 5th Motorsports:

·       Double Formula One world champion Fernando Alonso struck lucky with a second successive victory in the Le Mans 24 Hours race last weekend with Toyota team mates Kazuki Nakajima and Sebastien Buemi. The number eight car crew, who were set for second until late drama, were also crowned world endurance champions with Nakajima driving the final stint and becoming the first Japanese to win a global FIA-sanctioned series. The winning margin, after 385 laps of the Sarthe circuit in the 87th edition of a race watched by a crowd of 252,000, came down to 16.972 seconds.
