Council grants new lease for Narangba Rangers Rugby League Football Club Inc
The Narangba Rangers Football Club will be able to construct additional toilet blocks and a storage shed after being granted a new lease from Moreton Bay Regional Council.
Spokesperson for Parks, Recreation and Sport Councillor Koliana Winchester said this would cater for the growing needs of the sports club at their Williamina Courts Sports Complex site.
“The Narangba Rangers Rugby League Club has grown by 10 per cent over the last five years to reach over 350 participants, so I know how important these amenities will be for its players and staff to cater for the club’s growth effectively and perhaps welcome even more players,” Cr Winchester said.
“The lease will enable the club to build a new male and a new female toilet block, as well as a third block specially designed for people with disabilities.
“Budget 2018-19 is all about delivering healthy lifestyles opportunities, so we’re happy to help facilitate the growth of this great local club.”
Councillor for Division 11 said council’s community leasing program offered low-cost opportunities for over 250 community groups across the region to manage and utilise council’s facilities.
“This is a brilliant example of how council continues to support organisations across the Moreton Bay Region and promote a healthy and active lifestyle,” Cr Grimwade said.
“There’s a strong desire among the community to play rugby league and this is evident by the significant growth the club has experienced in the past five years.
“I'm very happy that council has been able to assist the club to ensure it can continue to play an important part in providing social and sporting opportunities for our residents and our youth.”
