Caboolture author to unveil 52 short stories at Hub

Join local author Martin Kari at the Caboolture Hub on Saturday, November 18 when he officially launches his unique collection of 52 short stories.

The Caboolture-based writer will unveil Stories Short and Spicy with a free event from 10.30am that includes a special reading and meet-and-greet session.

“I wanted to write something for people who might not have the time to read through an entire novel, or prefer their stories in short bursts, which is why I came up with Stories, Short and Spicy,” Mr Kari said.

“There’s one story for each week of the year.

“While the stories are shorter than your average novel, they’re not short on twists, turns, high and lows.

“Each of the stories encourage readers to compare their own life experiences with the characters and the experiences they go through.”

Martin Kari was born in Transylvania during World War II and lived in four continents before calling Australia home in 1981 with his wife Arja and their six children.

Moreton Bay Regional Council Division 3 Councillor Adam Hain encouraged local residents to get behind Martin and secure their spot early for the launch to avoid disappointment.

“Martin is a perfect example of the thriving creative industries we have in Moreton Bay, and I’m proud that the Caboolture Hub will host this special launch event,” Cr Hain said.

The book launch is free, but bookings are essential and can be made online at www.moretonbay.qld.gov.au/libraries
