Voting in Glass House Small Business Awards ends 6 May
Voting in the inaugural Glass House Small Business Awards ends on Friday 6 May and local Member, Andrew Powell, is reminding the community to get your vote counted.
“Since going live with the final list of nominated businesses in early April we have been inundated with votes from across the region. It is just so wonderful to see how much support we are getting for our small business owners and their hardworking staff.
“I know I keep saying it but small businesses really are a vital part of our regional community as they provide us with the necessary goods and services that we require to function in our everyday life and they provide the local jobs.
“Most small businesses also give back to our local community by supporting financially or in kind, our volunteer organisations and local schools so they deserve to be acknowledged for their service.
Mr Powell, with support from the local Chambers of Commerce, launched his Small Business Awards as a way of recognising the efforts of small businesses and their employees and offering them the opportunity to have public acknowledgment for their ongoing contribution.
All nominated businesses and or employees have been invited to attend a Gala event to be held during Queensland Small Business Week in May.
“Winners of the Bronze Glassy will be chosen by representatives of the Chamber of Commerce organisations – a type of peer recognition award and the Silver Glassy will be awarded to the business and employee in each region with the most amount of votes.
“The coveted Gold Glassy will go to one business and one employee from across the Glass House electorate - selected from the nominated Bronze and Silver category winners.
“Time is running out to make sure you visit my website and vote for your favourite business or employee before 6 May.” Mr Powell concluded.
