Teen charged for shattered bus shelters
Police have charged a 17-year-old man with 67 counts of wilful damage following investigations into the damaging of a large number of bus shelters in the Moreton Shire region.
It will be alleged between mid-October and November 11 a slingshot was used to fire projectiles at the glass surrounds of the bus shelters. Police will allege that a total of 55 bus shelters were damaged.
It will also be alleged a number of cars were also damaged in the area.
Police executed a search warrant at an address in Kippa-Ring yesterday where it will be alleged they found a quantity of cannabis and a set of scales.
A 17-year-old Kippa-Ring man was charged with 67 counts of wilful damage, 15 counts of supplying a dangerous drugs and a number of other drug related offences.
A second 17-year-old Mango Hill man was also charged with 12 counts of wilful damage in relation to the alleged damage of the bus shelters.
Both men are due to appear in the Redcliffe Magistrates Court on December 7.
Investigations are continuing.
