Have you listened to Moreton Bay’s 101.5fm between midday and 3pm weekdays lately?
If you are a regular listener you’ll have a grin like a cheshire cat that gone (almost) are the days of the same old music, back to back, day in day out…!!
As a radio station with a volunteer-based group of presenters it hasn’t alway’s been easy to fill the mid-afternoon slot.
But wow, have things begun to change for your local radio station…!!
We have the good fortune to have on board a fresh wave of talented, highly listenable and warm sounding presenters in the afternoon shift now.
Some are brand new to the industry, others have a tad of experience going back a few years… and others have an absolute wealth of experience.
You’ll usually be hearing either Trevor, Dennis or Geoff in this timeslot - and they each bring to the station their unique, laid-back delivery style.
So go on. Take a listen and I’m sure you’ll enjoy the new Afternoon Shows with 101.5fm, the voice of Moreton Bay.

Your local radio station is offering another of its 8 week training programs commencing tomorrow night and running 8 weeks.
We should have a ‘packed house’ for the first class tomorrow night, and I for one am excited by the prospect of helping a new team of volunteers realise their goals.
If you haven’t registered for this course then I’ll miss you tomorrow night…! :)
But despair not…! Call us Mon - Fri between 10 am - 3 pm and register for the next course, commencing early 2009.
Otherwise drop me an email at brians@1015fm.com.au and let’s know you’re keen…! (Hint: Might pay to go to the 1015fm.com.au website and read it first…!)
I’ll keep you updated via the blog as to how our course progresses.

Well, as you may or may not know, your local radio station’s online forum crashed in a dying, frying, lying, crying heap earlier this year. The ‘SMF’ forum ‘went to God’ and is now firmly in a ‘happier place’ most likely.
So we investigated this forum and that forum and a whole lot of other options but perhaps now we’ve got the answer in an integrated solution within our new site. If you were a member of our old discussion forum before, I’d sincerely encourage you to re-sign to our new one, because as you’ll remember, it was becoming an important resource of information sharing for our community.
As the local community radio broadcaster for our region, the more interactive we are with our audience the better it is for everyone. Certainly I look forward to reading interesting posts by you on topics related to our radio station, but also on your contributions about all manner of issues as they relate to Caboolture and the surrounding region serviced by 101.5fm.
You can access the forums by going to www.1015fm.com.au/fireboard.html .
Hope to read your compelling posts soon…!

This is a new ‘blog’ for Radio 4OUR 101.5fm, the Voice of Moreton Bay.
Our radio station broadcasts 24 hours a day, 7 days a week with a wide variety of talk, news, music, and information based programming.
Welcome along! In this blog we’ll endeavour to keep you up to date with station happenings and events.
But first, we’re keen to hear from you, particularly as we’re looking to fill a couple of shifts at the moment. Full training will be provided of course. You’ll need to be a team player. If you have an exceptionally large ego that’s fine. But if you are ‘egotistical’ that ain’t. I’m sure you know the difference. Delusions of grandeur and any thoughts of being a local ’star’ whereby you put your own interests before the stations’ wellbeing and future just isn’t going to work. On the other hand, if you have ‘PASSION’ and ‘HEART’, and are eager to soak up knowledge and apply what you learn; to truly work as a team; to help take the station to the heights our local community deserves… then come along for a fun, productive ride.
As a volunteer announcer you’ll know you’re doing your bit to help the hundreds of local sporting and community groups in our region too. And in times of an emergency, our station is relied upon by the community to pass on information quickly and factually.
What next? Drop the station manager, Brian Smith a line at brians@1015fm.com.au and register your interest. It’s that easy.
