Caboolture Central Springs $1 million park officially opens
Residents of Caboolture’s Central Springs welcomed the newest addition to the community this week – a $1 million 7,000sqm park and 4-hectare lake.
Located in Central Springs, one of the largest approved master planned communities in the region, the new parkland adds another element of amenity and activity to the Moreton Bay Region, which is one of the fastest growing urban areas in Australia.
Moreton Bay Regional Council Mayor Allan Sutherland, Deputy Mayor Mike Charlton and Councillor Adam Hain toured the new parklands at its official launch.
Mayor Allan Sutherland said after visiting the park this new space will quickly become the heart of the community.
“Having an opportunity to experience the park and dust off my basketball skills, gave me a real insight into how the community will relish the space,” Mayor Sutherland said.
“The way in which the park has been thoughtfully designed allows a variety of residents and locals to thoroughly enjoy the space, there is something for everyone at the Central Springs parkland.
“Nearly half a million people already call Moreton Bay home and with a population growth of 2.8%, that figure is expected to hit more than 645,000 by 2036.
“A remarkable statistic when you compare it to a state like Tasmania which has a total population of 515,000.
“Master planned communities like Central Springs, which will one day be home to more than 2000 residents, play a vital role in supporting that growth.”
QM Properties development manager Stephen Panitz said this park was a real milestone for the growing community and for QM Properties who have a 30-year history in the Moreton Bay Region.
“The parkland officially opened on the 6th of February and residents and visitors are now invited to enjoy the extensive playland, including swings, climbing platforms, slides, a half basketball court and two 30-metre-long flying foxes.
“We can’t wait for the park to fill up with young families – kids having fun on the state-of-the-art play equipment, families having barbeques by the lake,” said Mr Panitz.
“The park is connected to bike paths around the lake and through Central Springs, making it easy for all of our residents to enjoy this beautiful public space.
“Our vision from the beginning was to provide ample greenspace for residents wanting to enjoy an active lifestyle, both on their own lots and in a communal community space.”
Central Springs covers more than 160 hectares of land, of which 46 hectares is parkland, and when complete will be made up of nearly 1,000 homesites for residents looking to call the area their home and to enjoy the added advantage of being perfectly situated between the Sunshine Coast and Brisbane CBD.
The Central Springs master planned community follows the success of other QM Properties estates in the area such as Central Lakes and Pacific Harbour.
