Fardon – our streets have eyes, stay away from Pumicestone: Simone Wilson
Reports that Queensland’s worst sex offender Robert John Fardon may be living in Morayfield has State Member for Pumicestone, Simone Wilson on high alert.
“This is just too close for comfort and if these reports are true, then the Police Minister needs to give Pumicestone residents assurances that Fardon is being monitored and tracked on his every day movements”.
“My message to this repulsive predator is – ‘you are not welcome anywhere in the Pumicestone electorate, our streets have eyes and we will be watching, stay away!’”
Ms Wilson highlighted that the Palaszczuk Labor Government has some explaining to do but instead they have the Police Commissioner front the media to justify their actions.
“It is the Premier who needs to explain why her Government requested the court to gag the release of Fardon, and why she thinks it’s ok to have such a deranged and dangerous criminal set free without strict supervision and GPS tracking for the rest of his life”.
“What is blatantly clear is that Labor’s approach to crime and dangers to our community is to go soft,”
“Through the Queensland Parliamentary process, the Labor Government blocked the urgent passage of the LNP’s tough laws for violent sex offenders and as a consequence they have put the community at risk,” Mrs Wilson said.
“People in the Pumicestone Electorate will be watching for any sign of Fardon around our streets and we won’t be silent on this
“The safety of all in our community is paramount and keeping Queensland children safe will always be the number one priority for the LNP,” Mrs Wilson said.
