Keith Urban Wins Queensland Music Awards for highest selling album

Keith Urban has been awarded the Highest Selling Album award for his latest release 'Ripcord' at the Queensland Music Awards while Amy Shark has taken home five awards.

Keith Urban's Ripcord is the ninth studio album by New Zealand-born Australian country music singer Keith Urban.

It was released on 6 May 2016, through Hit Red and Capitol Nashville. For this album, Urban collaborated with musicians such as Carrie Underwood, Pitbull, and Nile Rodgers. The album was preceded by the singles "John Cougar, John Deere, John 3:16" and "Break on Me", with "Wasted Time", "Blue Ain't Your Color", and "The Fighter" also being released from it.

As with his previous album Fuse, Urban worked with multiple record producers, including longtime producer Dann Huff.

The album was nominated for Best Country Album at the 59th Annual Grammy Awards.

On April 7, 2017, the album was certified Platinum by the RIAA.

The Queensland Music Awards were held at the Brisbane Showgrounds on Monday night.

Song of the Year went to Jeremy Neale for his song ‘Dancin’ & Romancin’.

Amy Shark won the Pop Award for ‘Weekends’, Singer Songwriter Award for ‘Weekends’, 2018 Export Achievement Award, Highest Selling Single Award for ‘Adore’ and Reginal Award for ‘Weekends’.
