Queensland Seniors Week 2018 – Celebrating a Queensland for All Ages
Seniors Week provides the opportunity for Queenslanders to explore programs and services available for seniors. To be held this year from 18-26 August, the week helps to build and maintain strong communities by connecting people of all ages and backgrounds through the many events and activities held during the nine days. Too many to fit into just one week.
2017 was another great year with over 720 events in the calendar ranging from IT classes, coding and robotics, dances and balls, bush walks, story sharing, art and cooking classes, come and try days, information sessions, workshops and expos, and so much more.
We can't wait to make Seniors Week 2018 an even bigger success with you.
This year we are continuing to celebrate ‘A Queensland for All Ages' and encourage people to get involved by hosting or attending events.
Funded by the Queensland Government, the program provides $100,000 to subsidise events and activities held during Queensland Seniors Week.
Subsidy applications will open 1 March for eligable not-for-profit, charitable and community organisations, schools, local government, and libraries to apply for up to $1,000 to support events hosted during Queensland Seniors Week.
Get in quick as subsidy applications close 31 March 2018.
To find out more and to download the subsidy guidelines visit www.qldseniorsweek.org.au or phone 1300 738 348.
The media kit will be available in the upcoming week. In the mean time why not follow us on Facebook!
