The Race is on with Rotary in Moreton Bay Region

Unifying together in strength and looking smart is the Caboolture Rotary, Bribie Island Rotary and Redcliffe Sunrise Rotary joining together with the Sunshine Coast Central Rotary Clubs for its annual race day function.

Three of the Moreton Bay Rotary Clubs got together at the Centenary Lakes Sports Club & Function Centre Wednesday evening in Caboolture to the well attended function centre to ensure "the Off to The Gallop" event got off to a good start.

All the excitement  geed up what is destined to be a fantastic day for Sunday September 10, race day at Corbould Park, Caloundra that includes a full race card, open to the public, TAB, Fashions on the Field, Raffles, entertainment and much much more.

This is the main event for the Rotary Calendar in the region, with all monies raised this year, going right back to clubs in the area together have their main focus on the "All Abilities Play Space" at CREEC - Caboolture Region Environmental Education Centre in Burpengary.

This project is almost finished however as with all Rotary Projects they keep fundraising until the project is completed.

Rosemary Worthington from Caboolture Rotary says the "Raffle prizes are better the winning the trifecta".

With "First Prize 2 nights accommodation at the Jacaranda Collages at Malaney & 2 Nights Midweek at Beachmont Gold Coast" and Second Prize "a selection of South African Wines by Zebra Crossing Wines Sun Coast"

Over the evening Guest Speakers included Mr. Lyle Rappo a fascinating and well respected Jockey with many wins under his belt enthralling the audience with his thrills and spills on the race track and stories that delighted all.

Also prominent race horse owner Mr Ian Duncan also spoke on the trials and tribulations of owning a race horse, who added there is a whole lot more then just money that needs to be part of the interest in entering in to this kind of investment
