Rhonda Orman from Caboolture Diabetes talked about, the Diabetes Awareness Walk at Bribie Island on the 28th of May.

Registration is only a gold coin donation after the walk there will be food and drinks plus other stalls to show and talk about Diabetes. The walk will Start at the Volunteer Marine Rescue and end at Pumicestone Lions Park. 

If you have been diagnosed with Diabetes within the last 12 months Rhonda says to listen to the advice that your doctors give and start a exercise regime and a healthy diet.

Rhonda Orman also speaks about the difference between type 1 and type 2 diabetes. With type-1 diabetes the bodies immune system destroys the cells that release insulin and type-2 diabetes the body isn't able to use insulin the right way. This is called insulin resistance. As type 2 diabetes gets worse. The pancreas may make less and less of insulin, this is called insulin deficiency.
