Mark Ryan Member for Morayfield announces Community grants to make our roads safer
State Member for Morayfield, Mark Ryan MP, is urging local community groups, schools and the Moreton Bay Regional Council to apply for round six of the Queensland Government’s Community Road Safety Grants, which is now open.
Mr Ryan said the latest round of the grass-roots grants program opened on Tuesday 18 April 2017, with applications to be submitted by 26 May 2017.
“The successful Community Road Safety Grants provides an opportunity for local people to address local issues and make a real difference to the safety of pedestrians and road users,” Mr Ryan said.
“We need to do all we can to keep Queenslanders safe and community-based projects, run by community members, are a great way to do this.
“In previous rounds, grants have been used to run a range of projects, including bicycle education programs, promote road safety awareness and even provide child car restraint fittings.
“Grants of up to $20,000 are on offer for short-term, small-scale road safety projects and we are encouraging community groups to apply.
“They can also apply for funding of up to three years to deliver road safety education programs.”
